Permanent cosmetics, also called permanent makeup, cosmetic tattooing, micro-pigmentation, and dermal pigmentation, refer to the process of tattooing pigment into the second (dermal) layer of the skin. Tattooing is a permanent process, hence the term permanent cosmetics.

How Many Appointments will be Necessary?
A follow up appointment six weeks after your first visit will be needed to enhance or perfect the initial lines. Over time the color will fade and you may need to have it refreshed or completely redone. This varies from person to person.

Can Permanent Cosmetics be Removed?
No, not easily, if at all. Laser and other removal or lightening techniques have aided in removal in many cases; however, the results of these methods have not proven to be consistent. Therefore, investing your time and money in choosing a properly trained permanent cosmetic professional is essential. 

Is It Painful?
Most people experience some discomfort. Sensation may vary by individual and by procedure. Clients can be confident knowing that permanent cosmetic professionals are well versed in the use of topically applied products to minimize discomfort for even the most sensitive client.

Are There any After or Side Effects?
Generally, there will be some swelling of the treated area. During the procedure there may be some bleeding and or bruising. While eyebrows may have few after effects, eyeliner and lips may present more and the swelling may last two to three days. There is usually tenderness for the first few days and it is important to note, the color is much darker than you may expect for the first six to ten days.
